Ming Chuan University
Graduate class of 2020
There I was, boarding a plane for the first time in my life and (not) ready to move to a country 14,722 km away from home. During the flight I was feeling scared and excited but when I got to the Orientation Day at Ming Chuan the fear banished and I just felt extremely enthusiastic for the new chapter I was about to start.
At Ming Chuan, the classes are carefully designed to make us improve in our interpersonal relationships and individual work. Of course, I enjoyed learning about economics and marketing but learning about environmental awareness, media literacy and mandarin assured me that Ming Chuan was the best and most complete place to study. Not only because of it being a highly ranked and accredited university but also because it allowed me to participate in extracurricular activities such as the freshman camp or the cheerleading competition where I got to interact and bond with other international and local students.
I highly appreciate the effort professors and the staff put into each lesson and event. It made a significant difference in my learning journey to know that I had the help of a kind, diverse and loving community who made me enjoy and grow so much. Learning in a diverse environment motivated me to go out of my comfort zone and helped me to expand it further than what I imagined possible. I had the opportunity to learn about many cultures and to face challenges that shaped the person I am today. I got to make friends from every continent and to have a glimpse in what international business is really like. Exciting, evolving and diverse.
There were several great opportunities to put theory into practice when it came to ethical debates, market research and leadership. I had the opportunity to be in the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) Undergraduate Grand and was awarded with funding to develop my research proposal which eventually became my thesis project. I am and will be enormously thankful to Ming Chuan and its faculty for encouraging and guiding me along the way.
Many things happened in the year 2020. The world was shaken and paralyzed at the same time but for me it was when I got to see the diploma that symbolized the end of a wonderful chapter in my life.
