In 2013, I was awarded the “2013 TaiwanICDF Scholarship” to study my first degree. Flash back, when I was applying for the award I had no idea what school and program I will apply for. I only had one desire, that is, to study commerce relating fields abroad. Then I found Ming Chuan University (MCU) and International Business and Trade program (IBT) to be the closest match in the universities and programs available for the scholarship. Being enthusiastic for abroad studies, I definitely accepted the offer without any cogitation.
Studying the IBT program in MCU International College (IC) is one of the best decisions I could ever make in my academic life. I have been prepared for challenges and undertakings that are beyond my imagination. I have gained experience in dealing with issues and my dreams are well engendered. As a first time traveler when I arrived in MCU, what I needed more was an exposure to different cultures and mindsets. And this was exactly what the IBT program offered me. The vast array of student population in IC developed my knowledge base in multicultural understanding.
The course offerings in the IBT program are the perfect modules for my entrepreneurial desires. Moreover, the class settings and instructors were best fit and arousing to my academic pursuits. I have had a cordial relationship with all the professors that instructed me and their extensive knowledge and ability to make students understand the subjects make the IBT a standout program. They are at all times willing to assist and help students improve on their weaknesses and grow their strengths. The quizzes, exams, assignments, individual and group projects, presentations, interactive class discussions, final year thesis project et al. all broaden my professional experience.
Furthermore, with the increase in globalization, the IBT program harbors students from all over the world. My class comprised of Asians, Africans, Arabs, Americans, Europeans, Latinos, Caribbean’s among others. Not only where we in the same class, but we teamed up and interacted amicably and maintain a unique cultural pluralism among ourselves. The knowledge gained and cultural diversification experience, I am well prepared for any profession that I may desire.
I have graduated and my future looks even more scintillating. Currently, I am studying my Master’s degree in Finance at National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. On top of that, I am working on my Ecommerce startup business, which I intend to lunch in the very near future. With the training and experience from the IBT program, I am prepared and excited for any undertaking. Before coming to MCU, I wasn’t sure what career I would go in for, but after graduating from the IBT program, I could easily flip and chose from range of careers that the IBT program has prepared me for.
